A+C | Mt. Falcon, Colorado Elopement

When Angela contacted me about eloping with her fiancé Cole, we started brainstorming some ways to incorporate their hotel (the iconic Ramble Hotel) with Colorado’s mountainous nature. We started the day in their room, which was The Ramble’s unique Salon Suite. Angela and Cole got ready together, shared their wedding cake, and snuggled on the bed for a few photos. I also got to capture some of their beautiful wedding details (I LOVE showcasing the invite, shoes, jewelry, and other small details. Pro tip - ask your florist for extra flowers for these, it makes a world of difference). Then we moved to the hotel’s upstairs bar to capture them enjoying a drink together before we headed out to the mountains. Because they are eloping, of course we also had to get a photo in front of The Ramble’s “Wish You Were Here” sign.

We chose Mt. Falcon in Indian Hills for the elopement itself because it was only about a 40 minute drive from the hotel, and is an easily accessible and walkable location offering a variety of views. Because I like to scout locations that are private for my couple’s vows, I led them to a secluded spot that still showcased beautiful mountainous scenery in the backdrop. A family of deer even joined us! They shared letters they wrote to each other, popped a bottle of champagne, and enjoyed an intimate first dance together. Honestly, what could be better?

The main lookout area we used for the last photos is usually quite popular, but we somehow caught it on a day when it was empty of other photographers! I was excited to be able to photograph them being cute together while taking in the stunning views at this spot.

These two exuded such a fun and loving energy and just genuinely wanted to enjoy each other’s company and Colorado’s beauty together to celebrate their marriage. I feel that is exactly what they accomplished with this day, and I couldn’ve have been happier to be there to capture it! Ultimately an elopement is about YOU and what is important to your relationship, so if that’s clinking glasses at the hotel and ending the night in the mountains, let’s freaking do it!
